Anyone who has experienced the walk along the
Goulburn River or picnicked under soaring sandstone cliffs at ‘The
Drip’ can vouch for the natural beauty and soul of this special place.
Fed from nearby springs, a delicate curtain of dripping water gently falls
from the over arching cliffs, weeping bottlebrush and ferns.
Visitors often compare the Goulburn river gorges to Kakadu in the Northern territory. The proposed Moolarben underground mine is within metres of these fragile cliffs and culturally siginifcant aboriginal sites. The mining process is likely to intercept groundwater, the life blood of this land. Under the current mining laws there are no ‘legal’ grounds to object.
